Constance Ejuma
Constance Ejuma was born in the West African country of Cameroon before relocating to the United States when she was 10 years old. She began her love affair with the arts from an early age and eventually studied theatre in college when she was a teenager before embarking on a film, theatre and TV career.
Her significant experience in film, television and the theatre started with her first appearance in 8, a film featuring different short stories with 8 film directors which was released in 2008 to widespread critical acclaim. From there, Constance’s profile grew with appearances in the short film Kwame also in 2008 and the 2011 production Ara and Ben, where she played one of the lead roles. Her career is not just confined to the silver screen however and she has also had credits in high profile television shows such as 24, Monk and, more recently, Southland and Eagleheart. Furthermore, her acting talent has landed her roles in numerous theatre productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Death and the King’s Horseman, Things Fall Apart and 40 Plays for 40 Presidents.
Constance, who spends the majority of her time in Los Angeles, is also a SEO expert and her employment for an online media and SEO company has seen her work with organizations such as typef.com and livestrong.com.
The Cameroonian is also a vocal supporter of women’s rights particularly in Africa and she was prominent in the play CARRY THE WORLD: Women and Peace which was based on work by Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist, Marissa Roth and focused on how war affects women in different ways. Constance is currently working on a documentary film about her tribe in Africa and she is also trying to publish a children’s book.
