Imogen Hogg

Though there have been many child prodigies, 8-year old Imogen Hogg’s remarkable performance in The Trinity marks a formidable introduction to the African Film industry. The Trinity, a film produced through the combined efforts of two production houses: Cupado Films and Mar Hills and revolves around politics, corruption and greed in the African continent.

Imogen Hogg is featured as Naveda (Nadia Buari)’s intelligent 5-year old daughter. Many people expect a five-year old to be shy and appear vulnerable. But Imogen’s character is inquisitive, witty and tenacious. Admittedly her character was enhanced by good screenwriting, but one cannot take away the fact that in movement, dialogue and camera skills, her performance stood far above the standard one has become accustomed to in child actors that feature in African movies. Though the movie features a great cast including Majid Michel, Koffi Adjorlolo, it was little Imogen Hogg who stole the show. Her highly acclaimed performance won her the best child actor in the 2010 ZAFAA Awards.

Imogen now lives in South Africa with her parents who are giving her the support she to perfect her craft and become one of Africa’s greatest names on the silver screen.

Africa, this is Imogen Hogg – definitely got Africability!
