Achille Brice

Since 2003, Achille Brice has been at the forefront of the Cameroonian film industry with his editing and post production skills. So far he has had his name on 9 feature films and 8 short films many of them award nominated.

Achille was born in Buea where he graduated from the University College of Technology. Although before becoming involved in film, he has prominent in the music industry and has around 30 tracks to his name. Indeed, the 28 year old is aiming to release his debut album in the near future and has released songs in many genres including RnB, Soul, Jazz and Pop. He had little formal film editing training before he began work, citing the lack of a proper film editing training school in his hometown of Buea. So he researched skills and techniques by downloading e-books online.

His first feature film in 2003 was entitled Luxury and was directed by Kamwa Anthony, a Cameroonian film director. This brought him to the attention of E.T. Rene who hired the Buea native to work on the sound composition and editing for the 2006 production Leather Gangsters. 2006 saw a spike in his workload and he worked on no less than 4 short films including Faith Why? and Retribution. At the Verdant Hills Minifilms Festival that same year he enhanced his profile by winning two short film awards including the award for Best Short Film. In fact, he was nominated and won another 2 short film awards at the Fako Film Festival in 2008.

Achille Brice also recently completed his first film as director. Obsession won 2 awards at the 2011 Ecrans Noirs Film Festival and has received praise worldwide. He is also working on a fully CGI short film entitled Hells Pass which is due to be released late this year or early 2014.

Watch out for Achille Brice. He’s totally got Africability!
